We are a large, independent, full-service bookstore that carries books in all subject categories. We also buy and sell some used and collectible books, but since they account for only 5% of our inventory we offer our customers an active Out-of-Print Search Service. There is no up-front cost for this service. Any fee that we deem necessary for our time and trouble will be included within the quoted price of any and all books located. The search will take anywhere from a couple of days to two months. If we do find copies we will notify you by mail to confirm your interest. This notice will include the price, the condition of the book, and any visible defects the book may have. You must contact us immediately if you would like us to order any of the books that we find for you, as they are subject to prior sale. You are welcome to decline to order any of the same books because they are too expensive, you found them elsewhere or you are no longer interested in them – all at no cost to you. However, all books that you ask us to order should be purchased. Once we have your confirmation concerning a book we have located it usually takes us 2-4 weeks to obtain.

Since we try to find the least expensive copies in the best condition we do find that some books we try to order may already be sold. If so we will press on to try and locate other copies for you. If there are several copies varying in price and condition we will always give you the option to choose your preference.

If, in two months or so, we do not turn up any copies we will send you a postcard advising you that the search is up, and that you should contact us in another couple of months to begin again, if you are so inclined.

Out-of-print searches are used to locate specific copies of specific books that people quite like you are interested in buying. We resist the urge to use our searching prowess for research purposes or other nefarious acts of communal behavior. Therefore, we require the exact and complete title and author of all books, and your name, address, and telephone number in order to begin searching.
